The Isle Of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

The Isle Of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

Posted by Matthew on 28th May 2018

Based in beautiful countryside near Wroxall in the Isle of Wight, the Sanctuary's principal aim is to provide a home for unwanted donkeys. There are usually more than 100 animals in their care – usually over 90 donkeys and 25 horses and ponies. These animals have led a variety of lives, but they all have one thing in common – they need a home. The animals have 60 acres of grazing and a variety of indoor stables, barns and field shelters to make their lives as comfortable as possible. Admission is free and the Sanctuary is open 7 days a week from 10am – 4:30pm all year round. The Sanctuary relies on donations to carry on its worthwhile work. Visit their website to see what they are doing, find out about adopting a donkey or make a donation.
